New Special Economic Zones (SEZs) Launched

Muscat, Oman – Today marks a significant milestone in Oman’s economic diversification strategy with the official launch of new initiatives across Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and Free Zones strategically located across the Sultanate.

The Primary Economic Zones

  • Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD): The largest economic zone in the Middle East, focused on logistics, heavy industries, refining, and green hydrogen.
  • Salalah Free Zone: Strategically located near major shipping lanes, specializing in chemical processing, manufacturing, logistics, and pharmaceuticals.
  • Sohar Free Zone: Adjacent to Sohar Port, focusing on metals, food processing, logistics, and automotive assembly.
  • Khazaen Economic City: Located near Muscat, Oman's first integrated economic city, featuring a dry port, logistics hubs, food clusters, and clean industries.
